About Moorlough

The lough is regarded as particularly accessible around much of its shoreline and is suited to anglers with reduced mobility, although the official fishing stands are not individually classified as disabled-access platforms. Fly fishing, spinning and worm fishing are permitted from the bank, while boats are restricted to fly fishing and must be non-mechanical or electrically powered. The season normally runs from 1 March to 20 October, with the appropriate DAERA permit and Loughs Agency licence or endorsement required.
