Purpose of the directory
Fishing Lakes UK helps anglers discover fishing venues and find the official information needed to plan a visit. The directory is intended as a starting point rather than a replacement for checking directly with a fishery.
Sources used
Venue information may be gathered from official fishery websites, angling club websites, official social media pages, mapping services, public business information and submissions from venue owners or visitors.
Official and first-party sources are preferred where they are available. Third-party sources may be used to identify a venue or provide supporting context, but important details should be confirmed against an official source where possible.
What may be included
A listing may include the venue name, location, fish species, ticket type, facilities, access information, contact details, official links and other practical details that could help an angler decide whether to investigate the venue further.
Verification and limitations
Information may be compared across more than one source before publication or during an update. However, Fishing Lakes UK does not claim to have personally visited or independently tested every venue.
Prices, fish stocks, rules, opening times, facilities and booking arrangements can change quickly. Visitors must check important information directly with the venue before travelling or making a payment.
Corrections
We welcome corrections from fishery owners, angling clubs and visitors. A correction is easier to review when it includes the affected page, the incorrect detail and a current official source.
Corrections can be submitted through the contact page. Missing venues can be suggested through the Add a Lake form.
Closures and disputed information
Where reliable evidence indicates that a venue has closed, changed its name or no longer offers fishing, its listing may be updated, redirected or removed from normal directory results.
If information is disputed and cannot be confidently verified, it may be removed temporarily or described more cautiously until a reliable source is available.
Reviews and external opinions
The site may link visitors to external review platforms or public discussions. External comments remain the opinions of their original authors and are not presented as verified statements by Fishing Lakes UK.
Advertising and affiliate relationships
The website may earn revenue from display advertising, affiliate links or other clearly identified commercial arrangements. These arrangements help support the operation of the directory.
Advertising or affiliate relationships do not determine whether a fishery is listed, how factual venue details are written or whether a correction is accepted. Sponsored placements or paid promotional content will be identified where appropriate.
Updating this policy
This policy may be revised as the directory grows, new features are introduced or the way information is researched changes.
