About Hillsborough Lake
The nutrient-rich County Down lake produces strong natural fly hatches and is surrounded by wooded parkland and well-used lakeside paths. Its published season runs from 1 February until 31 December, with a four-stocked-trout bag limit and a minimum retained length of 25.4cm. Boats are not allowed. Method restrictions apply around the dam and southern footbridge, where only spinning and worm fishing are permitted.
