About Sweethope Loughs

The two loughs lie within the Ray Estate in open Northumberland countryside and form the headwaters of the River Wansbeck. Both are regularly stocked and remain open throughout the year under seasonal hours. Booking is not usually required for normal bank fishing, while boats, motors and batteries can be hired when available. The site also has two holiday cottages beside the Little Lough and a small caravan area, making it practical for longer fishing breaks. Visitors should check weather and current boat availability before travelling.
