The Pit is another gravel water of roughly 2.5 acres and contains carp, specimen tench, bream, roach, rudd, perch and golden tench. Clay Pool is the smaller mixed-coarse water, developed with comfortable pegs and stocked with species including carp, tench, golden tench, rudd and barbel. Star Carr Lakes venue rules

The published Star Carr regulations require a current Environment Agency rod licence, with under-16s accompanied by an adult and a maximum of two rods per angler. Clay Pool and The Pit use barbless hooks and fully free-running rigs and do not allow braided line, boilies, floating or artificial baits, bait boats or pike fishing. Mirror Pool requires at least 15lb main line, barbless hooks and leads that can eject safely. Only fishery-supplied fish-care equipment is to be used and rods must not be left unattended.
