About Naseby Reservoir

The reservoir covers about 93 acres when full and is stocked with Fishers Pond strain carp to more than 40lb, with the Trust describing typical carp in the 18lb to 30lb range. Naseby also has a large roach population and has historically produced pike above 30lb. When water levels are high, platforms on the dam wall provide some of the more accessible fishing; during summer and autumn the level can fall far enough for anglers to fish from the mainly gravel reservoir bed. Permits are purchased online through the Catch booking system.

Naseby Reservoir venue rules

The official fishery rules require micro-barbed single-hook rigs for general fishing, at least 15lb main line, a 42-inch landing net and a large padded unhooking mat or cradle. Bait boats, fixed leads, keepnets and particle baits are prohibited, and fishing is from designated pegs. Carp fishing has a three-rod limit and pike fishing a two-rod limit. The ticket page lists its winter predator ticket from 1 November to 31 March, while the published rule sheet permits pike fishing from 1 October to 31 March.
