About Lake of Menteith Fisheries

Lake of Menteith Fisheries offers boat-only fly fishing on Scotland's 700-acre natural lake near Stirling. The sheltered, shallow water is stocked weekly with rainbow and brown trout reared on site and is known for dry-fly and buzzer sport, as well as large resident pike. Hire boats include an outboard, oars, landing net and drogue, and lifejackets must be worn. Catch-and-release is available, with an extra charge for retained trout; all pike must be returned. The fishery cabin provides reception, permits, tackle, refreshments and toilets. Rod hire, guiding, tuition and introductory boat-handling advice are offered, with a wheelchair-accessible boat available by arrangement. Advance booking is advised around competitions and seasonal closures.
