About Harelaw Trout Fishery and Coffee Shop
Harelaw is a historic 102-acre shallow reservoir in moorland near Neilston, built in 1844 and lying around 600 feet above sea level. Its average depth is five to nine feet, with more than three miles of wading bank, four dam walls, three islands and numerous bays and peninsulas. Fly anglers can fish from bank or boat for regularly stocked rainbow and blue trout, alongside a natural population of wild brown trout. The on-site coffee shop serves meals, home baking and drinks, while a fly-tying shop and guided tuition are also available. Check current fishing hours, tickets and boat availability directly with Harelaw before travelling.
