About Raker Lakes

Raker Lakes occupies 28 acres of landscaped countryside south of York. The complex contains four coarse waters: the 20-peg Acorn Lake, 10-peg Heron Pond, 22-peg Highbank Lake and 30-peg Horseshoe Lake. Kingfisher is a separate 6.5-acre specimen carp lake with 16 pegs. The fishery says Kingfisher was originally stocked with 220 Simmo carp, with numerous fish now in the 20lb to 30lb range and a lake record above 33lb. Kingfisher pegs are booked online, while the other lakes currently operate on a turn-up basis with tickets completed at the fishery.

Raker Lakes venue rules

The coarse lakes require dipped landing nets and barbless hooks, prohibit pleasure keepnets and floating baits, and restrict groundbait to feeders or pole cups. Kingfisher has separate specimen rules including a minimum 8lb main line, carp rods only, an unhooking mat and a landing net with arms of at least 32 inches. Bait boats are prohibited and rigs must be safe and barbless. Kingfisher offers day or 24-hour tickets but does not sell night-only tickets.
