About Orchid Lakes

Orchid Lake is the flagship water, with the fishery currently publishing a 51lb 8oz lake record, 17 single swims, five double swims and a maximum of 25 anglers. Club Lake is a private group water for up to four anglers and has a published record of 34lb 2oz. Willow Pool is a one-acre water for up to four anglers, with carp above 30lb and its own accommodation, toilet and cook station. The fourth water, Old Nursery, is listed with more than 400 carp to 22lb and is being developed for stalking, method fishing and younger or less experienced carp anglers. Sessions are booked through the fishery's official online booking partner.

Orchid Lakes venue rules

A valid Environment Agency rod licence is required and anglers must report to the office before walking around the lakes. Nets, mats, slings and waders must be disinfected, landing nets must be at least 42 inches and a carp-care kit is compulsory. The current rules specify micro-barbed hooks, at least 15lb main line, no leaders, no fixed leads and no braided main line except on marker or spod rods. Orchid Lake allows up to three rods and Club Lake two. Fishing is from designated swims and rods must not be left unattended.
