About Merrington Carp Fishery
Merrington Carp Fishery at Bomere Heath near Shrewsbury has three specimen waters operated through advance online booking. The eight-acre Main Lake has 15 swims and around 275 carp, including numerous 30lb fish and specimens above 40lb. Merlin is a 1.25-acre, three-swim lake holding roughly 80 carp, with whole-lake booking required at weekends, while Hayes provides the third bookable water. Every booking is for at least 24 hours and weekend sessions have a 48-hour minimum; Main Lake pegs and midweek Merlin pegs are allocated by a morning draw. Nets, weigh slings, unhooking mats and water buckets are supplied on Merlin, and anglers must follow the fishery's current equipment and fish-care rules. The gates open at 8am and normal session slots run from 10.15am until 10am on departure day. Check the booking system for current availability, seasonal opening and full rules.
