Commonwood Fishery at Holt near Wrexham has a broad mix of pleasure and specimen waters, including Snowdon, Llewelyn, Weston, Brecon, Aran, Tryfan, Glyndwr and Gellert. Snowdon is a specimen carp lake with fish reported to 42lb, Llewelyn is a carp runs water, and Brecon holds carp and catfish above 60lb. Open-access and bookable tickets are handled through Catch, while some waters also offer limited season membership. All visitors must sign in or pay at the cafe before entering. Day fishing is normally from 8am to 7pm, with packing up from 6.30pm; under-18s cannot night fish. Rules require barbless hooks, attended rods and supplied nets or cradles on pleasure and principal carp lakes, with no keepnets except during matches. The wider site has camping, glamping, an Acorn cafe and pizzeria, toilets and leisure facilities. Check individual lake restrictions and booking availability before travelling.
