Clavering Fishing Lakes is a four-lake coarse and specimen fishery near Saffron Walden in Essex, offering a varied choice of carp, predator and mixed coarse fishing. The 3-acre Specimen Lake has 10 pegs and is dedicated to the fishery's larger carp, with the venue listing a lake record of 37lb. The separate 2-acre Carp Lake also has 10 pegs and contains a healthy stock of carp, with a published record of 28lb. Predator anglers have a dedicated 1.5-acre, eight-peg lake stocked with catfish, pike and perch. Clavering reports catfish to more than 85lb, while pike fishing is seasonal and subject to specific predator rules. The 2-acre Match Lake has 18 pegs and contains carp, tench, bream, perch and silver fish, making it suitable for traditional mixed coarse fishing and organised matches. Facilities include three car parks, toilets and a fresh-water tap, while the Match Lake has two swims suitable for disabled anglers.
