About Willen Lake
Willen Lake comprises two large balancing lakes in Milton Keynes, with angling managed by Milton Keynes Angling Association. The north and south lakes total about 150 acres and hold specimen carp, large bream, tench, pike, perch and silverfish; MKAA records list carp above 50lb from the south lake. Willen became a members-only water in June 2023 and day tickets are not available. The annual fishing closure runs from 15 March through 15 June inclusive. Night fishing is permitted in authorised areas, but restrictions vary around the south lake because of watersports, public activity and a separate Beaches syndicate section. Anglers should consult the current map and MKAA rules, keep paths tidy for other park users and use official pay-and-display parking. Current season membership details are available from MKAA.
