About Weston Turville Reservoir

The reservoir was constructed in 1797 to supply water to an arm of the Grand Union Canal. BBOWT now manages the surrounding marsh, reedbeds, scrub and woodland, while the open water is separately leased to local sailing and angling organisations. The reserve supports important wetland habitat and birdlife, including reed warblers, water rail and winter wildfowl. Visitor access includes a mixture of surfaced and softer paths, with parking in the lay-by off World's End Lane.

Weston Turville Reservoir venue rules

General entry to the nature reserve does not provide permission to fish. Fishing access is controlled by the angling organisation leasing the water, so anglers need its current permit and must use only authorised areas. BBOWT asks visitors to keep dogs on leads and respect the sensitive reedbeds, wildlife and surrounding reserve. Detailed fishing rules should be obtained from the current angling leaseholder.
