The Match Pool is managed as a high-stock competition and pleasure water, with the venue reporting match weights above 100lb and carp to approximately 12lb. Horseshoe Pool was de-silted, netted and given reinforced banks before being restocked with more than 100 carp in the 2lb to 3lb range. Day tickets cover a session from 8am to 6pm. Rods, short whips, chairs, landing nets and disgorgers can be hired, while bait and spare hook links are available from the on-site tackle shop.

Fishing is permitted only between 8am and 6pm. Only Mawgan Porth Pools feed pellets may be used; meat, bread, floating baits and glued or varnished baits are prohibited. Hooks must not exceed size 12. Every fish must be landed with a net rather than swung to hand. Personal nets, net bags and stink bags must not be taken beyond the pool entrance, and all litter must be removed.
