About Ware Angling Club - Turnford Consortium

Turnford Consortium is a four-lake complex beside the River Lee Navigation at the end of Wharf Road in Wormley. The waters are owned by Lee Valley Regional Park and run by the consortium, of which Ware Angling Club is a member; qualifying club members receive a consortium ticket for the venue. Railway Pit is the principal carp water, with carp over 30lb as well as bream, tench, roach, rudd, perch and pike. Boot Pit is a 42-peg match and pleasure lake stocked with small carp and also holding tench, bream, rudd, perch and crucian carp. Clearer, weedier Lea Pit contains bream and tench into double figures, rudd, perch and pike, while the shallow and reed-lined Marsh Pit is noted for rudd and tench. The club says the complex offers year-round fishing, permits night fishing and makes guest permits available. Vehicle access is through a combination-locked gate, and anglers must use the large central car park rather than Wharf Road.
