About Horseshoe Lake
Horseshoe Lake at Lechlade is the Carp Society's 62-acre flagship water, with 75 swims including 21 doubles. Its stock is estimated at 800 to 1,000 specimen carp averaging about 21lb, with a lake record above 40lb; bream, tench, roach, rudd, pike and perch are also present. A full Carp Society membership is required before fishing. Members can buy flexible hourly tickets, subject to a minimum session, or apply for seasonal permits when available. First-time visitors should arrive during office hours and report to the lodge after entering through the secure gate; day-ticket arrivals are not accepted on Sundays. The site has an on-site tackle shop, toilets and showers. Check current arrival times, lake closures and rules before travelling.
