About Hayton Lakes Fishery

Goldeneye, Kingfisher, Little Grebe, Pintail, Shoveler and Wigeon can be fished on ordinary day tickets without pre-booking, subject to matches and availability. Gadwall is the 3.5-acre specimen lake, with 19 pegs and carp reported above 40lb, and requires annual membership before a session can be booked. Several waters also permit pre-booked night fishing. Gravel tracks run around the complex and parking is available behind or close to most pegs.

Hayton Lakes Fishery venue rules

General rules require barbless hooks, dipped nets and safe running feeder rigs. Children under 16 must fish with an adult, while overnight anglers must be at least 18. Gadwall has additional specimen rules including at least 12lb main line, a minimum 36-inch landing net, an unhooking mat or cradle and a carp-care kit. Braided main line and nut baits are prohibited there, and Gadwall sessions require both membership and advance booking.
