About Fenland Fisheries

Willow Lake is a mature former gravel pit of around six to seven acres that has operated as a specimen carp fishery since the early 1990s. The fishery publishes a lake record above 46lb and also lists large catfish. Vermuyden is a smaller former gravel pit of around two to three acres with a much denser carp stock, including fish above 40lb. Vermuyden also has three insulated fishing cabins plus bivvy spaces, and the whole lake can be booked exclusively for groups. Both waters have their own booking information and separate rule sets.

Fenland Fisheries venue rules

Rules differ between Willow and Vermuyden. Willow is restricted to adults, requires at least 15lb main line and a minimum 36-inch landing net, while Vermuyden uses a 12lb minimum main line and a two-rod limit. Both require barbless or micro-barbed hooks, dry fish-care equipment on arrival, no braided main line, no leadcore, no peanuts or tiger nuts and no retaining of carp. Fishing is from designated swims and rods must remain attended.
