About Carr Mill Dam

Carr Mill Dam is a roughly 55-acre reservoir north of St Helens and one of the area's best-known match and pleasure fishing waters. St Helens Angling Association controls the fishing rights and maintains the angling platforms around the reservoir. The water carries large stocks of bream and roach alongside perch, pike, common and mirror carp, tench, gudgeon and eels. Anglers must obtain the appropriate association membership or permit before fishing; overnight access may require additional authorisation. Matches and other reservoir activities can affect peg availability, so current permits, night arrangements and event closures should be checked through the association's official page.
