About Brogborough Pit

Brogborough Pit is Ampthill Angling Club's large specimen water, formed from a mature clay pit excavated for the brick industry during the 1960s. The lake has a history of producing specimen bream and contains common and mirror carp, pike, roach, rudd, perch, tench and eels. Carp restocking and the recovery of its roach population have added to the original stocks. Access is through the angling club, while overnight fishing is restricted to members of the separate night syndicate and places are managed through a waiting list. Venue rules include barbless or micro-barbed hooks, no braided main line, suitable landing equipment and removal of all litter.
